House Trade Reports

Is My Representative Trading Stocks?

By Congress Pings Research · Covers House stock-trade reports filed January 1 – October 15, 2026 · Updated monthly

Quick answer

108 House members filed stock-trade reports in 2026, through October 15. Together they filed 430 reports listing 9,052 counted trades. Your representative may be one of them: type a name or pick a state in the table below to see how many reports they filed, when they last filed, and which assets they traded most. In 20 states and territories, counting Washington, D.C., no House member has filed a stock-trade report this year.

Congress Pings quickly emails you: who traded, which stock, buy or sell, and the dollar amount.

Members of the House must report their stock trades over $1,000. This page counts every one of those reports filed in 2026 and shows the result for each member, so you can answer one question fast: is my representative trading stocks?

The page covers the House only, not the Senate, and 2026 only. Members report each trade's amount as a dollar range, not an exact figure, so this page counts trades rather than adding up dollars. We read all 430 reports filed through October 15, including 57 that were scanned paper forms; we transcribed those from the page images and spot-checked them against a second reading. A few amended trades are held out until we can match them to the trade they correct.

House members who filed stock-trade reports in 2026

Through October 15, 2026, 108 House members filed 430 stock-trade reports listing 9,052 counted trades. At least one member filed from 36 states. In the other 20 states and territories, counting Washington, D.C., and including Colorado, Iowa, Utah and Maine, no House member has filed a stock-trade report this year.

Activity is very uneven. A small group of members files most of the trades: Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA-17) alone reported 4,571 of the 9,052. At the other end, 44 of the 108 members filed just one report all year.

Stock-trade reports by state

California, Texas and Maryland lead in counted trades, but the totals say more about a few individual members than about any state. Most of California's total comes from one member, Rep. Ro Khanna (4,571 of 5,695 trades). Maryland's 339 trades come from a single member.

What stocks are members buying in 2026?

The Most-traded assets column answers this member by member. For the stocks House members bought most recently, see our monthly report, Stocks Congress Is Buying, which lists every stock bought more than once in the latest 30-day window.

Many of the busiest traders hold more than stocks. Their reports list Treasury bills, municipal bonds, corporate notes and private funds, which is why some members' most-traded assets have no ticker.

Is it legal for members of Congress to trade stocks?

Yes. Members of Congress may buy and sell stocks, but House ethics rules require them to report each trade over $1,000 by the earlier of 30 days after they are notified of it or 45 days after the trade. A bill to restrict member trading, H.R. 7008, passed the House on July 22, 2026, but fell short of the 60 votes needed to begin debate in the Senate, so it is not law.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a way to see what stocks politicians are buying?

Yes. The table on this page lists every House member who filed a stock-trade report in 2026, with each member's most-traded assets. For the latest purchases, see Stocks Congress Is Buying. To hear about new trades as members report them, Congress Pings sends an email alert.

Who trades the most stocks in Congress?

In 2026, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA-17) reported by far the most trades in the House: 4,571 of the 9,052 counted through October 15. The table is sorted by reports filed. See Most Active Congress Stock Traders to compare other members.

Can anyone see members' stock trades?

Yes. Members' trade reports can be read by anyone, usually weeks after the trade, because members have up to 45 days to report. This page counts the 2026 reports so you don't have to read them one by one.

How do I find out what my congressman is buying?

Type your representative's name or pick your state in the table above. You'll see how many reports they filed in 2026, their latest filing date and their most-traded assets. For an email each time a new House trade is reported, start a 7-day free trial of Congress Pings.

Are members of Congress allowed to trade stocks?

Yes, as long as they report each trade over $1,000 by the earlier of 30 days after they are notified of it or 45 days after the trade. H.R. 7008 would restrict member trading, but it has not passed the Senate.
